Villafranca del Bierzo, on the Camino de Santiago, is a wonderfully peaceful little town in the hills in the East of Léon in Northern Spain. If you only have two days in the town then do see these sights.
The Baroque Collegiate Church of Santa Maria in Villafranca
Santa Maria Real de Piasca is a Romanesque Church near Potes in the Picos de Europa. There seemed to be many churches, monasteries, and hermitages in the area around Potes and we had time to visit three.
The Church of Notre Dame in Brennilis was developed from 1485 through to the 16C, and has recently been restored, again.
The Church of St Herbot is in a small settlement of the same name, near Plounévez-du-Faou. The Church started building in the 14C on the site where St Herbot was buried and was the second church on the site.
