A Jean Lurçat exhibition in Graaff Reinet?

Jean Lurçat (1892-1966) was a French artist almost solely responsible for the revival of tapestry weaving. I first came across his work when I attended an evening class in tapestry making in London and had visited the tapestry museum in Aubusson – but here in Graaff Reinet! Amazing! Yet we were the only visitors – what a shame!

Fabulous, wonderful – where were the people? Do not miss this exhibition if you are in Graaff Reinet, and do include the town in a visit to South Africa if at all possible.

I would love to hear from you!
