The Marylebone Baths and Wash-houses, built in 1850, offered ‘..107 separate baths, besides two large swimming baths, with a constant supply of tepid water..’.

Mr Bradshaw and I picked up the tour in Paddington, at the junction of the Edgware Road with Blomfield Road where I walked along the Regent’s Canal, in the area known as Little Venice.
The gardens and graveyard surrounding the Chapel of St John were peaceful – filled with flowers and colour, and the scent of sarcococca confusa.
Mr Bradshaw pointed out that St John’s Wood had ‘..the prettiest ornamental cottages and gardens imaginable..’ so I knew I would enjoy peering over hedges and through railings as I walked in St John’s Wood.
