Lerma to Benavente

We were sad to leave Lerma but it was time to move on. The drive from Lerma to Benavente was c.193 kms and we were slightly anxious about backs, nerves, pain etc, but set off, determined to enjoy the trip.

The Parador of Lerma is just wonderful! Beautiful, comfortable, good food, and courteous and efficient staff – I felt truly pampered during my stay and would happily return.

Covarrubias

Covarrubias is an important small town about twenty minutes outside Lerma, and on the road to the Monastery of San Pedro de Arlanza. It was a hot day, and after visiting the monastery it was time for a coffee stop!
