The countryside was exquisite – flowers everywhere in shades of pink, yellow, purples, and whites tinged with colour, and with a wonderful sweetness in the air. Cork oaks and olive trees on grassy hillsides and goats, cattle and sheep – I could have spent hours here with my camera – and I would love to add the scent of the flowers to this post!

Wonderful fields and yes a pity that a blog cannot convey fragrance!

I don’t know the coastal area at all – there is so much to see…

Simply beautiful! Love the Alentejo region, and Spring is such a good time to visit.

Thank you for visiting, and joining the travels! Yes, the Alentejo is beautiful and now that information about walking is available it is even better. I have some wonderful walks to post. There will be some rainy posts but the weather was mainly very good and the countryside stunning.

Yes, amazing walks. I recently wrote about parts of ‘The Fishermans Trail’ from Porto Covo south along the coast. Just an amazing and rugged part of the world. Love all your pictures too!
