Building work on today’s Church of Pencran started in 1533, replacing an earlier, 13C Chapel on the site. I visited the church a year ago but it is always a pleasure to return to these wonderful buildings, one of the Enclos Parroisiaux in Brittany.

The entrance into the church is through the decorated South Porch, lined with the Apostles and benches where the merchants could sit and do their business before passing into the dark interior where the light through the wonderful stained glass windows colours the interior and everything in it.

There were many more churches, well-known and hidden away, and I loved the hours which I spent enjoying their atmosphere, and the details in the buildings.
I would love to hear from you!
