Day 9 of Travel in France was a cloudy day but warm. We parked in a lane in Chauzeix and set off along the GR46.
The walk went through forests of pines, oaks and beeches to the Etang de Ganezandes, a quiet spot just a mile outside Chouzeix and overlooked by the Cirque de Fresselines.
After that we walked through more forests filled with moss and lichen, and across grass meadows with cows everywhere!
In the village we found stepped roofs again.
There were plenty of roadside crosses on this walk.

There weren’t many flowers, but at the end of the walk I found this pretty sight in the village pond.
