The Market in Burgos

On Monday, our first full day the town, we set off to the market in Burgos for some fresh provisions. Well, you live and learn, and Mondays are not good days; the fish stalls are all closed and the other stalls, although seemingly plentiful, looked better on Tuesday! And I have to make a confession – I brought the wrong camera to Spain and the small point-and-press is clearly on the way out. And add to that the laptop is no longer able to cope with the editing software. So I have to apologise that photography may not be up to the usual standard on this trip.

The covered Market in the South

It is a somewhat incongruous building on the Calle Miranda but apparently very successful. The market was completely renovated c.15 years ago at a cost of 7.7€

We also shopped here on our first trip to Burgos, in 2022, the first chance to travel after Covid restrictions were lifted.

The entrance to the market

And that is just a little post for today – the Market in Burgos. It was fun to visit, although perhaps the most spectacular markets were in Oviedo, and Leon.

I would love to hear from you!
