We had enjoyed a wonderful six weeks in Northern Spain but now it was time to travel back to the UK. We set off from Limpias, on the motorway, to drive the short distance to Santander and the ferry to England.
Santander and the Ferry
We arrived in good time and joined a queue at the ferry port. And waited, and waited, until finally we were able to board.
The clouds were low, and the day was dull, but at least it wasn’t bumpy!
After a bad experience in the restaurant on the way out we settled for the Buffet Supper in the Commodore Lounge and a good night’s sleep. We woke to even heavier skies, and slightly more turbulence, but it was manageable. And so the day progressed until we docked in Portsmouth at the end of the day.
The weeks in Spain had been a wonderful adventure, and we went back to the UK feeling grateful for what we had enjoyed. And of course looking forward to the next trip!
