Just outside Camaret-sur-Mer is one of the many Neolithic structures in Brittany, the Lagatjar Alignments. The stones were discovered in 1776 when there were apparently c.600 standing stones. By 1883 only c.100 stones remained and today that has been further reduced to 80 stones. The stones are apparently aligned with sunrise at the Winter Solstice and date to 2,500BC.
