The head of the Tulbagh Valley, Cape Province

The Old Drostdy in Tulbagh lies about 4 kms outside the town, further towards the head of the valley, and so after visiting we drove as close as we could into the head of the valley and the Groot Winterhoek Mountains which rise to over 6,000 feet. There is a walking trail at Murludi but unfortunately recent fires had closed this and we had to content ourselves with just sitting and looking at the wonderful, dramatic scenery.

Well, with all the eating and drinking exercice is a necessity! So early starts are fine, and anyway, after a while you don’t notice the heat anymore.

I would love to hear from you!
