Bloemfontein – Loch Logan Waterfront

Bloemfontein was hot – at least 35C even early in the morning – and The City Lodge Hotel was our very comfortable base. Breakfast was very good – fresh fruit, baked goods, preserved figs! (YUM), meats, eggs to order, and so on – rooms comfortable, free ice, fast WiFi, and a swimming pool. It was so hot we felt unable to swim!

On the first morning we set off to on foot, starting just down the road at the Loch (!) Logan Waterfrontpromoted as ‘…the largest shopping centre in central Africa…’ – OK, if you say so!

We had supper on two evenings at Brazalight food, very nice – it was just too hot to eat. And Avanti also proved a good dinner venue, although quite pricey.

It was the large selection of fresh fruits which I particularly enjoyed – pawpaw, pineapple, melons, oranges, grapefruit, bananas, mangoes

I would love to hear from you!
